Knitting and the independence debate

For evidence that knitting is relevant – even to politics – a group of handknitters are knitting for independence, or at least using knit to try to persuade those who have not made up their mind. They are knitting a map of Scotland, which, I have discovered, is not as off the wall as it sounds. There are many examples of knitted maps of towns, of countries and of the world.
